This past Sunday, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny debuted new content in the form of a half an hour episode titled Volume One. The episode included new animated introductions by Maz from a campsite on Takodana. The episode also included a mix of previously released shorts and new ones showcasing significant moments of the heroines of the Star Wars galaxy.
Volume One included the following shorts:
- Sands of Jakku*
- Newest Recruit – “Sabine and Ketsu face off against stormtroopers on a mission that becomes more complicated than they bargained for.”
- Staring Sabine Wren, Ketsu Onyo, Hera Syndulla, Chopper, Stormtroopers
- The Stranger*
- The Starfighter Hunt – “As Ashoka teaches Padmé to pilot a fighter, they are attacked by a droid starfighter.”
- Staring Padme’ Amidala, Ahsoka Tano, R2-D2, Droid Fighter
- Bounty of Trouble*
- Tracker Trouble – “Chewie and Rey use their mechanical skill to find a tracker bomb on the Millennium Falcon.”
- Staring Rey, Han Solo, Finn, Chewbacca, BB-8
- Ewok Escape*
- Teach You, I Will – “Ahsoka learns to fight with two lightsabers as she spars with Master Yoda.”
- Staring Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Yoda
The newest additions to the series include a handful of characters that could potentially materialize become a part of the Adventure Figures line. Fingers-crossed for a Ketsu and Han Solo figure!
While on the topic of upcoming Adventure Figures, Hasbro has provided us with a press release and press images of a few sets in which we assume will be featured in Volume Two of Forces of Destiny, debuting later this month on the 29th.
“STAR WARS FORCES OF DESTINY” TELEVISION SPECIALS DEBUT
OCTOBER 1st AND OCTOBER 29th ON DISNEY CHANNEL
Moments both big and small shape our heroes destinies in two half-hour “Star Wars Forces of Destiny” television specials on Disney Channel in October.
Featuring a total of eight never-before-seen installments, these specials showcase compilations of the popular animated shorts featuring Rey, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, Princess Leia, Ahsoka Tano and Padmé Amidala, as well as new episodes including Han Solo, Hera Syndulla, Finn, Maz Kanata and many others.
The first half-hour special debuts SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) followed by the second on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel and the Disney Channel App.
Developed by Lucasfilm Animation, “Star Wars Forces of Destiny” showcases how choices both big and small shaped the destinies of beloved characters. Talent from across “Star Wars” films and animated TV series reprise their roles – Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Felicity Jones, Tiya Sircar, Ashley Eckstein, Vanessa Marshall, Catherine Taber and Matt Lanter among others.
“Star Wars Forces of Destiny” will also continue to be supported by global product extensions, such as Adventure Figures and role-play from Hasbro, apparel exclusive to Target and books and comics.
With the first eight installments launching digitally, these new shorts will also launch on Disney YouTube following the Channel special.
Thanks to our hard working friends over at Star Wars Collector we now know that the Platinum Princess Leia set, first seen this past Summer at a convention in South America, will not be an exclusive to retailer Toys R Us and will be available at multiple retailers.
